Daniele Oldani reinterprets Michelangelo's sculptural masterpiece "La Pietà". Oldani replaces the classic figures of the Madonna and Christ with Joker and Batman. In this version, Joker holds the body of a lifeless Batman in his arms.
The work is an eloquent statement: the underdog, represented by Joker, is finally placed in a position of power and centrality. Joker's choice is not random; he embodies chaos, the antihero who challenges social conventions and norms.
Oldani identifies with Joker, seeing him as a symbol of his own struggle for recognition and validation. Joker, often perceived as a villain, becomes a complex character in Oldani's work who tries to leave a mark.
"Victory of Loser" is therefore an autobiographical work, which reflects his desire for redemption. The Milanese artist struggles with his feelings of inadequacy. Through the figure of Joker, the artist explores his personal journey, made up of challenges and attempts to emerge as a significant figure in the art world.
