Description by the gallery owner

The work is a critique of the corruption, manipulation, and hypocrisy present in systems of power, be they religious or economic.
The dome is one of the most iconic symbols of Christianity and the Vatican. Its presence alludes to religious power and the Church's role in society. However, artists' critical interpretations seem to call into question the transparency and integrity of this institution.
Pinocchio in profile, who appears to be a silent witness, perhaps representative of the falsehood or lies that permeate, according to the two artists, the religious universe.
Finally, the Madonna is depicted masked with
A gun in her hand, a clear symbol of violence or power, sharply contrasting with the traditional image of peace and compassion associated with the Madonna. The dollar sign on her red robe criticizes the influence of money in religious and spiritual spheres. The halo, with the words "Pay Me, Pray Me, Love Me," is an ironic and cutting message highlighting the commodification of faith, transformed into an economic system in which money, prayer, and love intertwine in a vicious cycle.

"DAMA" DANIELE OLDANI X MARCO TAMBURRO

Scopri l'artista

Marco Tamburro and Daniele Oldani, united by a need to express themselves through art, despite their very different stylistic approaches, have successfully combined two opposing pictorial styles with harmony and fluidity. On the one hand, Tamburro's intense and rapid brushstrokes, which explore the anxieties and disenchantment of human beings living in the metropolis; on the other, Oldani's pop imagery, rich in social irony. The fusion of Rome and Milan has given rise to artworks that fully reflect the vision of the two artists. Themes related to society, religion, and war are addressed by the two with clarity and irony. Pictorial elements that characterize such different visions have managed to form a dynamic and coherent connection.
