Description by the gallery owner

An astronaut, painted by Oldani, arrives on the Moon intending to plant the flag of an icon of contemporary popular culture, Burger King, but finds himself faced with an unexpected reality: a McDonald's flag is already there. His astonishment, expressed with the question "What the fuck?", becomes the symbol of a critical reflection on the invasion of consumer culture, which, despite the immensity of space and the uniqueness of the Moon, still manages to colonize even the most distant and inaccessible places.
The wall depicted by Tamburro in the same scene becomes a physical and symbolic barrier, an obstacle to be torn down, but one that also exists on the moon, amplifying the idea that even in the most remote and inaccessible places, humanity is not free from oppressive structures, ideological boundaries, and consumerism. The wall is a metaphor for how limitations, both cultural and social, perpetuate themselves, even where one might not expect them to exist.
The irony is strong, but behind the joke there is a critique of the way consumerism and capitalist culture impose themselves without any consideration for space, the environment, or the profound meaning of places like the Moon.

"DAMA" DANIELE OLDANI X MARCO TAMBURRO

Scopri l'artista

Marco Tamburro and Daniele Oldani, united by a need to express themselves through art, despite their very different stylistic approaches, have successfully combined two opposing pictorial styles with harmony and fluidity. On the one hand, Tamburro's intense and rapid brushstrokes, which explore the anxieties and disenchantment of human beings living in the metropolis; on the other, Oldani's pop imagery, rich in social irony. The fusion of Rome and Milan has given rise to artworks that fully reflect the vision of the two artists. Themes related to society, religion, and war are addressed by the two with clarity and irony. Pictorial elements that characterize such different visions have managed to form a dynamic and coherent connection.
