Description by the gallery owner

At the center of the composition stands the figure of a Madonna inspired by the traditional iconography of the Madonna della Misericordia, known for her gesture of opening her arms as a sign of protection and welcome. However, in this irreverent and symbolic representation, her arms are not extended to embrace the faithful, but rather to desperately try to pick up a signal from the repeaters dominating the background of the scene.
This contemporary Virgin, painted by Daniele Oldani, has her head replaced by a television with the words "NO SIGNAL" emblazoned across it, a clear metaphor for the lack of connection, not only technological but also spiritual and emotional. The television, now an icon of our time, represents the void of communication and the absence of a meaningful message, transforming the sacred figure into a modern caricature, reflecting the crisis of values and meaning.
The backdrop to the scene is formed by repeaters, drawn with the unmistakable style of Marco Tamburro. These industrial elements, symbols of technological progress and global communication, seem to assert themselves as new places of worship, replacing the transcendental with the earthly and material. However, despite their apparent technological power, even the repeaters fail to deliver: the signal fails, leaving the figure of the Madonna isolated and powerless.

"DAMA" DANIELE OLDANI X MARCO TAMBURRO

Scopri l'artista

Marco Tamburro and Daniele Oldani, united by a need to express themselves through art, despite their very different stylistic approaches, have successfully combined two opposing pictorial styles with harmony and fluidity. On the one hand, Tamburro's intense and rapid brushstrokes, which explore the anxieties and disenchantment of human beings living in the metropolis; on the other, Oldani's pop imagery, rich in social irony. The fusion of Rome and Milan has given rise to artworks that fully reflect the vision of the two artists. Themes related to society, religion, and war are addressed by the two with clarity and irony. Pictorial elements that characterize such different visions have managed to form a dynamic and coherent connection.
