Description by the gallery owner

"Superpetrolio" is a provocative denunciation of speculation on basic goods, such as water, which is increasingly scarce due to irresponsible exploitation and the logic of power. The scene unfolds in a gigantic megalopolis, an oppressive urban landscape dominated by skyscrapers. At the center of the work stands a masked Mexican wrestler, an iconic figure in Oldani's style, embodying resistance and courage. His imposing presence recalls that of King Kong, a solitary and opposed creature forced to battle superior forces. The wrestler is preparing to make a symbolic and decisive gesture: turning off a gigantic water faucet, an element created by Marco Tamburro. A continuous flow gushes from the faucet, symbolizing the most precious and vital commodity, threatened by waste and manipulation. However, the wrestler is not left alone. A flock of warplanes violently attacks him, preventing him from reaching his goal. These planes represent the forces of economic and political elites, who prefer to keep the population in a state of scarcity and crisis to exert tighter control. Water, which should be a universal right, accessible to all, is instead transformed into a weapon of power, a tool to fuel inequality and speculation.

"DAMA" DANIELE OLDANI X MARCO TAMBURRO

Scopri l'artista

Marco Tamburro and Daniele Oldani, united by a need to express themselves through art, despite their very different stylistic approaches, have successfully combined two opposing pictorial styles with harmony and fluidity. On the one hand, Tamburro's intense and rapid brushstrokes, which explore the anxieties and disenchantment of human beings living in the metropolis; on the other, Oldani's pop imagery, rich in social irony. The fusion of Rome and Milan has given rise to artworks that fully reflect the vision of the two artists. Themes related to society, religion, and war are addressed by the two with clarity and irony. Pictorial elements that characterize such different visions have managed to form a dynamic and coherent connection.
