A figure with a smiley head is sitting inside a bar. In front of him, numerous empty bottles. Illusion of carefreeness. Behind the cheerful emoji, a skull and skeleton appears. The superficial smile hides limitless suffering. Pleasure in the short term turns into annihilation in the long term. Oldani and his cry against alcoholism. Yes, because this work speaks to us aggressively. The same aggressiveness that we find in the pictorial sign. The denunciation of a social problem through art. “How many more?” it is not referring to glasses of alcohol, but to how many people will still have to die due to alcoholism. The legacy of “Art Brut” is thus used by Oldani. The violence of the sign on the canvas shakes us. The objective is a figurative communication that reaches the public forcefully.
