Oldani's “Memento Mori” is an eloquent work. A call to action. The chair depicted has a ladder-like backrest. Do you want to sit down or go up? The choice is yours. The eyes on the left of the canvas peer at us. The phrase “they will judge you anyway” is written between the eyes and the chair. The meaning? Whatever choice you make, you will still be judged. A skeleton arm with the index finger pointing upwards highlights Oldani's desire for ambition. The artist, therefore, uses the back of the chair to go as high as possible. Furthermore, we notice a skeleton above a television: a metaphor for the laziness experienced, from time to time, by Oldani. This canvas is executed with the characteristic style that distinguishes "Art Brut". The color shades of the canvas are combined wisely. The pictorial signs are raw and instinctive, but they have a truly amazing communicative capacity.
