Daniele Oldani reinterprets Michelangelo's "La Pietà". The style of this work recalls the pictorial concept defined by Dubuffet: "Art Brut" or raw art. The work is a veiled criticism of the ecclesiastical system and the world of contemporary art. The “Supreme” logo is preceded by the words “The death of”. Oldani, therefore, uses the US brand to write the phrase "The death of the supreme". Interesting revisitation of the "Death of God", a Nietzschean concept. The Milanese artist uses the brand not only for aesthetic purposes. Oldani uses the brand intelligently. The wise use of the logo is an indirect criticism of his colleagues. According to the Lombard painter, many contemporary artists use logos only for aesthetic purposes. At the top left of the canvas we note the Latin acronym “Iesus Hominus Salvator” (Jesus Savior of men) and the three nails symbolizing the crucifixion. The warning “I will come back” under the body of Christ is interesting, a reference to the resurrection. The Redeemer has a skull-shaped head. The Madonna is depicted almost like a Mexican “Calaca” holding Christ in her arms. He has a red cloak and sheds bloody tears. Oldani questions the authenticity of the alleged miracle. Divine act or expedient to attract faithful? This is the question that the painter wants to raise in us. “I Will Come Back” is an immense work, an account of our contemporaneity, a conflict between philosophy and religion. The profound reflection that triggers the vision of this work is surprising.
