The search for contrast continues: abstract and figurative art coexist in the same work. For Lino Lago, coexistence is possible and his works demonstrate it. The Spanish artist reproduces “Head of a young girl”, a work by the Flemish painter Jacob Van Oost. The young girl's face, as usual, is covered by a single-color orange layer. A curvilinear strip partially reveals the girl's face. The fusion between abstract and figurative creates a cohesion that cancels out rivalry; there is no supremacy between the two pictorial styles. The conflict between opposing forces calls for a truce. The concept of Fake Abstracts is democratic: there is no one pictorial style that is better than another. Lino Lago transmits a powerful message of coexistence and peace.
