The Weight of Suspended Time Hippo is a bronze sculpture on a wooden base, 75 centimeters high. It represents a hippopotamus, one of Stefano Bombardieri's iconic animals, suspended in space as if lifted by a crane. Even if many read it as an animalist reference, in reality the suspended animal symbolizes man and is a metaphor for the situations in which the human being finds himself blocked, suspended, waiting for something that does not depend on him. The rendering of the hippopotamus is extraordinary, faithful to a real specimen and, at the same time, so graceful as to seem weightless. The head, bent as if in the act of drinking, conveys a sense of resignation, however compensated by the look, proud, decisive and combative.
